The Washington State firearms law has undergone tremendous modifications as the result of Initiative I-1639. That initiative added so many onerous modifications to the Washing State firearms law that beginning July 1, 2019 the entire industry has had to take a step back.
Added to the complexities of the initiave, the way in which the media marketed I-1639 in the populous Tacoma and Seattle markets made it sound as though the 'common sense gun control measures' it promoted would have very little negative impact to the firearms industry and sportsmen. It could be said that the media lied through omission.
The Washington attorney general has recently authorized the grass roots ballot initiative I-1094 that would REPEAL the updates imposed through I-1639. The catch is, 300,000 signatures are needed to get this initiative onto a 2020 ballot and the signatures must be submitted by December 28, 2019. If you are a registered voter in the state of Washington we need your signature!
Most gun stores and shooting ranges across the state have copies of the initiative and are requesting signatures. But remember, you can only sign it 1 time!!!
We have copies of the repeal initiative at the English Pit Shooting Range and at Brass Tacks Munitions; we are anxious to talk to you! We will also have them at the Portland EXPO Center gun shows.
